Cookies policy

Short version: this site does not set cookies, and there is nothing here to consent to. The longer version explains what that means and where the one third-party request on the site goes.

We set no cookies

shorepower.energy is a set of static pages. It does not place cookies on your device, it does not use local storage to identify you, and it does not ask you to accept anything, because there is nothing to accept. That is why you have not seen a cookie banner. A banner that asked permission for tracking we do not do would be theatre.

Analytics: privacy-friendly and cookieless

We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count visits. It sets no cookies, so there is still nothing here to consent to. It does not collect personal data, it does not follow you between sites, and it builds no marketing profile of you: it records aggregate page views, the referring site, and an approximate country, and nothing that identifies you.

Beyond that there is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no heatmap tool and no session recorder on this site.

Our fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font network, so loading a page does not disclose your visit to a third party.

Map tiles

The map pages draw their background imagery from Esri (ArcGIS). Your browser fetches those tiles directly from Esri's servers, which means Esri receives your IP address and the usual request headers whenever you load a map. We have no way to avoid that while showing you a map, and it is governed by Esri's own terms rather than ours.

This is a network request, not a cookie we set. It happens only on pages that show a map. The connection data on the map is served from our own domain as static files.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs of requests to the site, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. Those are operational logs, not tracking, and they are covered in the privacy policy.

Controlling cookies yourself

Since we set none, there is nothing here for you to block. If you want to control cookies generally, every major browser lets you block or delete them from its settings, and blocking them will not break anything on this site.

If this changes

The analytics described above is cookieless and stores nothing on your device, so no consent is required for it. If we ever add anything that does store or read information on your device, we will update this page and the privacy policy before switching it on, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it. The date at the top tells you when this page last changed.
